The Five Most Beautiful Places in Singapore
Singapore astounded us in its ability to be photogenic on just about every corner. From the moment you set foot in Singapore’s Jewel Changi International Airport to parks and futuristic skyscrapers all across this tiny country, it feels like every street corner is a photo opportunity — or at least a chance to stop and marvel at all the natural and manmade beauty Singapore has to offer. These are Singapore’s top 5 most beautiful places that you should be sure to include on your Singapore itinerary.
(1) Gardens by the Bay
Gardens by the Bay is undoubtedly one of Singapore’s most famous attractions, and for good reason. Right on the Marina Bay waterfront, it’s made up of four main features: The SuperTree Grove, Cloud Forest, Floral Fantasy, and the Flower Dome, and you really shouldn’t miss out on any. The larger-than-life SuperTrees feature a walking canopy where you can get up close and personal and also get sweeping views of the beautiful city skyline. Cloud Forest features one of the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls, light exhibits, and floor upon floor of lush tropical greens - all inside. The Flower Dome and Floral Fantasy feature colorful plants from all over the world in the largest greenhouse in the world. Not only is Gardens by the Bay a daytime attraction, but the SuperTree Grove park transforms into a lightshow every evening, which takes place at 7:45PM and 8:45PM.
(2) The Skyline View of Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Sands is the most iconic feature of Singapore’s skyline, and the unique building looks good from every angle. The enormous building serves as a hotel, rooftop, mall, casino, food hall and restaurant hub, and gateway to the Gardens at the Bay. Some of the best spots for skyline views are from the Helix Bridge, which you can access from the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. The bridge also offers beautiful views of the rest of the city, as well as the Merlion statue across the water.
(3) Emerald Hill Road
The stark contrast between the colorful, colonial-style homes and the ultra-modern high-rises of Orchard Road meet on Emerald Hill Road in Singapore. This colorful street feels like a little time capsule preserved in the midst of modernity, and it’s the perfect place to stop and sip a latte when you feel like taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the popular Orchard Road shopping district.
(4) Singapore Botanic Gardens
Tucked away off Orchard Road are the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which stretch out over sixty acres of botanical bliss full of orchids, colorful plants, and huge swathes of greenery. A tropical oasis in the midst of Singapore’s main shopping district, the botanical gardens are full of beautiful scenery at every turn. Your day is sure to be complete with a visit to The Halia at Singapore Botanic Gardens, a restaurant and cafe plopped right in the middle of all the florals. We loved stopping there before dusk to grab some iced coffees and relax.
(5) The Jewel at Jewel Changi International Airport
No visit to Singapore is complete without the one and only Jewel, the largest indoor waterfall in the world at Jewel Changi International Airport. The incredible Jewel isn’t just a massive, magical, light-filled waterfall, but also features a surrounding entertainment, dining, and retail complex in the midst of the airport. Entertainment ranges from maxes to huge trampolines and walking nets suspended over the complex, as well as shopping and dining. It promises to be the only airport where you’ll actually be hoping your flight does get delayed.
